Greetings! Thank you for joining me this Saturday, please come in if you dare or just stand by the door with a cup of something.
Ugh, I’m sick and I don’t say this very often as getting a cold is quite a rare event for me but I guess after all the exhaustion and pain I endured in the last month, I had let one tiny virus slip passed my guard.
No, not COVID, thankfully, at least I don’t have the symptoms. Nah, just your common run-of-the-mill cold. It’s actually quite mild compared to the last one I had last year while I was traveling. At the moment, I just have stuffy and runny nose and a throat that’s dry as a desert. My voice is gone, too, all that’s left is a husky dried-up voice. No cough, though, that’s good news, I hope.
I think my cold might had started last week because my throat started feeling dry the day after I got home from Japan. It got better for a few days but then I woke up Thursday and felt progressively worse.
Meanwhile, mom is acting as though there’s nothing wrong, requiring me to talk despite the loss of my voice. Of course, she got to take naps every day while I had to keep myself awake to finish closing out the month of September. I don’t get the luxury of having a nap-time when it’s month-end closing time. It’s one of the downside of working in finance.
I’m glad we don’t work in the same department because, from the beginning, mom has been trying to get me to embrace this “F*** work” attitude which I can never embrace. She’s saying we’re not being paid enough to stress about it or care and I hate that it’s always the money with her. When you get hired for a job, you’re supposed to care. I embrace what I do for work because how I perform reflects on my reputation.
The thing I couldn’t believe was I had to go get my own cold medication when I had to get her medication when she was sick. Where’s the reciprocation? Why am I the one who must keep going when I’m supposed to be resting?
I’m just glad I got to play with my new macro lens this week and got this awesome picture of a fly on my red mums. I feel like I got lucky with this photo but at the same time, I was surprised how sharp the fly came out.
#weekendcoffeeshare is hosted by Natalie of Natalie the Explorer. I appreciate you stopping by. Until next we chat. 🙂

Sorry you are feeling sick. Could be a result of changing weather, too. Anyway, hope you feel better soon. Take care of yourself and try to rest when you can. 🙂

Yes, the changing weather definitely played a part. It was hot in Japan and then I came back to some chilly autumn weather. I’m feeling a little better today though. 😊

That’s for the throat, isn’t it? Or is it for everything cold-related?

It’s a general treatment. I use it for ulcer prone tummy, flue, even just dips in my immune system. It works like a charm. I have found taking a zinc tablet with it helps lift immune system again. My friend swallows a whole clove of garlic as well, but I don’t like the taste.

Trying to, already finished a box of over-the-counter pills, a little better but not back to my normal self yet.

I imagine you were pretty worn down by your trip and your end of month work. Sometimes your body just lets you know it is time to rest!

Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to as work hasn’t slowed down since I’ve returned.
