Lens-Artists Photo Challenge #272: Billboards and Signs

Happy Sunday! John from Journey with Johnbo is the host for this week’s Lens-Artists Photo Challenge and the theme is Signs and Billboards.

I am and always have been an avid reader of signs because it tells me whether I’m going the right way and that’s very important because 1) I don’t want to get lost and 2) because mom doesn’t let me go anywhere by myself these days, getting lost with her is doubly troubled.

I don’t remember this picture and where it was taken but it looks familiar. If I can hazard a guess, this picture was probably taken the last time I hiked the Indian Trail. It’s not a difficult trail but there were parts I disliked and of all the trails I’ve hiked, this is my least favorite because there’s not many interesting things to see along the way.

Here are a few of the signs I took pictures of when I crossed into a new state. It’s the most exciting part of going on a road trip, I think, because let’s face it, unless I’m going alone, there’s no way mom would let me drive across state lines. I don’t know why. I don’t even think I’ve driven across state line by myself, ever. If I had, I would’ve stopped at the side of the road and taken a picture of the signs instead of winging it from the car.

Well, the New Jersey sign wasn’t from the car. We were at Washington Crossing and the sign was right there and since we were crossing the bridge to Pennsylvania on foot, might as well take the opportunity to say hi and bye to New Jersey for a brief moment.

Finally, I saw no shortage of sign when I visited Japan in September. Billboards and signs were everywhere. These are from my time in Osaka when we made daily visits to Shinsaibashi. When we were on the river boat cruise and saw the billboard for the Glica man, mom immediately began snapping photos on her phone.

“It’s famous,” she said.

O-okay, I guess.
