They can absolutely have it. Those were the roots of my neighbor’s aspen trees, dug up when they invaded my basement.

I told them. They respectfully declined. They don’t like root sticks. Not when they have 82 acres of sticks and grass and strawberries which they steal the minute they ripen.

Two different houses in two different states and the humans have never eaten a strawberry.

That’s a shame. I used to have the same problem with my strawberries until this year when I planted them in stackable planters. Even the birds didn’t bother with it.
