Lens-Artists Photo Challenge #283: Illustration of a Poem

Happy Sunday! Ann-Christine from Leya is the lovely hostess for this week’s Lens-Artists Photo Challenge and she has, indeed, chosen an easy yet difficult topic (for me, at least) and that is to illustrate in photos a favorite quote or a poem.

Though I’ve dabbled in writing song lyrics and poems, I don’t write much of those these days unless a sudden series of lines come to mind. For this, I’m choosing one of my favorite poems – a short little 3-line poem I wrote in 2016 titled One More Step:

Left right, left right, just one more minute, one more step

Please don’t let me have a mishap

For I might fall off this rickety bridge and never come back.

Hiking, to me, is always about that one more step. No matter how tired I was and how much I wanted to give up and go back, if I take one more step, I would be one step closer to my destination.

I’m often the clumsiest person in the family so despite these bridges look pretty sturdy, you would never know with me.
