Happy Sunday! Egidio from Through Brazilian Eyes is hosting his first Lens-Artists Photo Challenge this week as one of the main hosts of Lens-Artists team and he’s presented a topic that’s much-needed during these wintery times – Warm Colors. I hope you enjoy my take on this theme.
In my opinion, the color of fire is the definition of a warm color because when I see fire, I instantly think of heat. This fire came from a fire pit, created by gas, and I remember I didn’t want to leave it because leaving it meant I would be cold again.

These were shot with my phone in RAW and later edited in Lightroom on New Year Eve. It was two of the last images I took in 2023 and I had purposely upped the temperatures of the photos to make it look warmer, just because it’s the middle of winter and I need warmth.
I went to walk in the park that day wearing my new glasses with transition lenses. When I got to these trees, they looked different to me and at first, I didn’t know why but when I took off my glasses, I realized the lens had gone completely dark. Perhaps that’s why the tree with the yellow leaves appeared red to me while the other tree appeared almost maroon-like.
I’ve picked this image to close this post. Without the shrubberies, you might had thought I’ve gone to another planet.
Nope, I’m still on Earth.
This picture was taken somewhere in the vicinity of Horseshoe Bend and from reading other bloggers’ Lens-Artists posts, it seems like Arizona is the epitome of warmth and warm colors with its orange to reddish color rocks and its ever so sunny and warm weather, even in the middle of winter. I remember needing to shed my coat when I arrive in Page, Arizona because it was nearing 60-degrees in December as opposed to the 40-degree temperatures 9-hours away at home.

Oh yes… the earth of Arizona shines in your photo of horseshoe bend. But for me, the is nothing like a warm campfire.

I was in Arizona for 4 days and the sun was shining all 4 of those days. I loved it.
