WQ#159: Inspired by Weather

I was looking for a quote for spring to share on this week’s WQ and came across this one.

The first part of the quote resonates with me because sometimes, you just have to go for it, you know. If you really want something, don’t wait for it to come to you, if you really want it, go get it yourself.

During my middle school years, my mom used to earn money by holding after school sessions in the apartment, tutoring a couple of my classmates. I think their parents saw it as part-babysitting and part-tutor to help their child get ahead in life.

During our breaks, we would head outside and play jump rope games. I was never good at these things due to my poor balance and hand-eye coordination. I would spend a long time studying the movement of the rope that the others would complain about me being slow. The moment I finally jump in, though, I would jump at the wrong time and then one of my feet would get caught in the rope.

This quote reminds me of the jump rope game we used to play because it reminds me that there’s no better time to start than now.

  1. That poem really expresses it well, and your story does too. With so many things, if we wait for the time “to be right” we’ll never get anything done. Just start! What a great attitude! Go for it! Appreciate this reminder that I need so often – just start. 🙂
