As much as I’ve been looking forward to March, I had almost forgotten that yesterday was the last day of February and today is the first day of March.
Reality has been riding shotgun for much of February while blogging has all but thrown out the window. Work has been crazy since closing January but outside of work has been crazier.
My aunt (mom’s youngest sister) returned a week ago today and since then, I feel like life has changed. The house is noisier, not just with mom’s YouTube videos but also with my aunt’s cackles as she watched her own videos. Even with noise-canceling earbuds, I can still hear them and the sounds coming from their phones and tablets. The only times I’ve felt calm and quiet were either everyone went to bed and the video on mom’s tablet stopped playing or in the office before my co-workers saunter in.
Meanwhile, the weather… It rained an insane amount in February, so much that it reminded me of Austin, Texas in 2017 when it rained nearly every day. It’s been raining on average of every 3 days. The humidity and rain caused my body to flare up. I’m sure it’s the rheumatoid arthritus was what caused my back and neck to ache all the way down to my right forearm. It’s still aching but I’m learning to live with it.
The crocuses were blooming yesterday. It’s so nice to see some colors in the garden, especially when winter is not retreating. I have planted a few assortments of vegetables in the south garden in February though because it’s still quite cold outside, everything grew slowly. I have also switched the frost blanket coverings to a 6mm greenhouse plastic, hopefully that will warm things up a little bit, and help the plants grow faster.
What else went on in February?
Oh yes, this blog surpassed 400,000 views!
The desktop version of WordPress was down (for me) for much of February and it’s only been fixed at the beginning of this week. So I ended typing my posts on my phone using a bluetooth keyboard because there was no way I could’ve typed my posts using the on-screen keyboard.
In March, I hope the weather will be more stabilized but for at least the next 7 days, it appears it will cold, meaning I’ll have to wait to sow peas as they won’t germinate in cold weather, or at least very slowly. I feel like March will be a month of transplanting – from flowers to vegetables.
I’m not certain at the moment of what else is coming up in March but whatever it is, I hope the month will be good.

Congratulations on your view count. Wonderful.
