Happy Sunday! This week, Tina from Travels and Trifles is challenging everyone on Lens-Artists Photo Challenge #306 with the term – Habitat.
After seeing all the photos of wildlife in Tina’s post, this concept of a habitat got stuck in my head. As Tina mentioned, the western US is practically the home of the bison. After being hunted to near extinction, preservation of this wild beast began taking place. Yellowstone is basically this giant preservation for many native habitats from the bison to the elk and so forth.
Ducks, geese, and mallards are an abundance near where I live. Just a short drive will lead me to groups of these guys gathering. I guess, they’ve found their preferred habitat.
Finally, I guess I’m stretching the definition of the word “habitat” a bit when I write “some animals prefer to be in a wild habitat while some cannot live with the presence of another species (in this case, humans),” despite an additional definition for the word means “usual or preferred surroundings.”

I like your theme of habitat and your lovely photos! Thank you for sharing.
