Please Note: 100% fiction!
“Why are you in such a hurry?” My aunt asked as I slammed my foot on the brake, “We are on vacation.”
I muttered angrily beneath my breath as I drummed my fingers on the steering wheel while a group of Canadian geese crossed the road.
I know this is a vacation. I know I’m supposed to take it easy, after all, I doubt I would be able to take another month-long vacation ever again when I start my new job in 2 weeks. But time is time, and to see as much as we can, we mustn’t waste time.
(100 words)

Obsessively caring not to waste time is actually wasting time.

Wow, I never really thought of it like that.

You should enjoy the moment, not to think about enjoying it. 🙂

Well, you should enjoy the moment, that’s the point. 🙂

True true… reminds me of the ones who spent their vacation glued to their phones taking picture after picture instead of actually being in the moment

I cannot comment on geese, since we eat them for Christmas and I suppose it would be rude to talk about it now. 🙂

Sounds like someone needs a chill pill…but it does take a couple of days into a holiday to slow down when one is used to rushing about. Nicely done.

Thank you and I agree, it does take a few days to get into the “mode”. 😁

Definitely food for thought in this piece! Don’t waste time, but don’t waste the moment either…

I wonder if people who lived before the industrial age worried like we do about hurrying to wherever they wanted to go. They probably did. They just had a different idea of speed 🙂

Of course, they measure their travels in days, unlike us in minutes and hours. 😄
