Are you the first one to say sorry?
When there is a tiff, are you the one to extend the olive branch or you wait for the other side to make the first move?
It’s funny, I apologize more to the customers at work than in my personal life. For the most part, my apologies have nothing to do with ego. I always do my research to make sure it’s my fault before apologizing.
On the other hand, I think I don’t often apologize in my personal life because of my ego.
What’s that saying from movies and TV shows? “It’s not you, it’s me.” That’s a dude’s apology, in my opinion, and he says it to satisfy the lady, despite knowing he has no need to apologize.
My mom tells me often that I need to apologize to her, for every time I cause her trouble, just because she believes she’s right and I’m wrong. Well, guess what? I refuse to play the “It’s not you, it’s me” card. Why should I apologize when I’m in the right? So, no, I’m never the first one to say sorry in my personal life.

Your position is very understandable Yinglan. I think majority would react in the same way that you do in your circumstances. Thanks for sharing

Why should you if you’re not at fault?

There must be a situation in your personal life when you’re wrong. But those situations with your mother are probably not your fault at all.

Of course! We cannot be right all the time. There will be times when I’m truly in the wrong and I will own up during those times.
