Who doesn’t love a couple of cursed lives?

“I’m coming, my love!” Adam shouted at the lighthouse in the distance, positive his voice would reached his love, Eve, even with all this distance.

Before you assume anything, no, these are not those Adam and Eve.

For over a millennia, the witch’s magic held, creating an invisible boundary that Adam could never cross, not as long as the elixir’s coursing through his veins.

It was simply to punish Adam for drinking the elixir that made him immortal.

“Why, you greedy mortal!” The witch exclaimed when she discovered the thief Adam had stolen and drunk the elixir.

Eve wasn’t supposed to drink the elixir but to punish Adam, the witch forced the elixir down Eve’s throat and then banished her to the lighthouse in the middle of the ocean. As the final blow, the witch clapped her hand, and with a great boom, an invisible wall was created between Adam and Eve, keeping them apart forever.

For the greater part of his life, Adam searched and nearly turned the world over for the antidote. Each night, as he lied awake, the witch’s final words rang in his head, “the only way you’ll ever see your love again is if you prove your worthiness and undo your curse,” before she let out one last cackle and perished.

It took him over a millennia of thievery, lying, pain, and betrayal to finally locate the antidote in the heart of a deep underground cave that once stood above ground. Now, all he has to do is overcome the turbulent waves of the ocean and pray that his love will reunite him with Eve.

“I’m coming, my love.” He whispered again as he embarked on his final voyage.
