#SundayStills: 3 #Trees 3 Stories

I thinks trees are wonderful subjects when it comes to photography. For one thing, they don’t move.

This is the Fuji apple tree in my front yard. I took this photo in July after I enlarged the island around the tree from a 2-foot diameter to a 4-foot diameter. Believe me when I say that those 2-feet made a lot of difference. It cooled down the soil so much that the nasturtium (on the left) had started growing again and has now turned into a large bush. The marigold – a seedling when this photo was taken – is now an equally large bush.

Basically, the rocks around the island created a heat dome that made the plants suffer. The heat dome even killed a Rainier Cherry tree that was on another island.

I will have to plant the replacement to the Rainier Cherry tree – a Stella Cherry tree – once the weather finally cools to fall temperature.

Japan has a lot of mature trees, perhaps more mature than any tree I’ve seen traveling elsewhere in the US or Canada.

I shot this picture at Himeji Castle in Japan. It was one of the many photos of single trees I’ve taken in Japan but this has to be one of my favorite tree images of all time.

When I saw this tree, it was never my goal to capture the tree in its entirety because that would’ve made a boring picture. My goal for this photo was to capture the tree trunk and a few of it lateral branches.

When I look at this tree, I can see that the tree is balanced even though the background of the photo is not. I think it’s the first set of lateral branches that balanced the photo.

One final picture of a tree.

I think there’s a reason why the sky is blue and clouds are white and of course, I know the scientific reasons but somehow, I also know nature has its reasons too. Blue and white go together, don’t you think?

Even though white goes well with plenty of other colors, I think it goes extra great with blue.

I’ve been taking more and more photos with my phone this year. I have this phone for almost a year now and I feel it takes pretty good photos. Maybe because I take pictures in Pro mode and then edit the Raw file in Lightroom.

I like Lightroom, it allows me to edit my pictures creatively.

    1. I actually got the suggestion from a facebook local group full of garden experts from my area. They said landscape trees should have a minimum of 3 feet soil diameter.
My new phone definitely takes better picture than my old phone and Lightroom actually recognizes the lens on my phone.

  1. Beautiful trees. When it comes to white and blue, someone told me that the original Santa Claus was dressed in blue, and that the red version got popular because of the Coca Cola comercial. I’d prefer blue version more, it goes better with the winter times. 🙂
