Six Sentence Story: Type

This is how you get rid of a guy on a Dating site…

“Do you want to go get some coffee with me right now,” I read the message out loud and sit back in my chair, um now, I thought, it’s 8 PM, I still have to get up early for work tomorrow.

Sorry, I typed, not tonight, I have to work tomorrow, maybe another time.

Less than a minute later, he replied, “but tomorrow’s Saturday,” so, I thought and typed, not everyone gets weekends…, but before I could finished, he wrote more, “and my son is jumping up and down, eager to meet you.”

Son, I froze at the word, this guy has a son, “what?!” I shrieked, a son, this guy has a son, oh no no no, I’m not about to commit myself to a guy with a child, that is not my type of guy.

I continued typing my message, “So, not everyone gets weekends off, you know,” maybe that will drive him away, “if your son is jumping up and down, maybe you shouldn’t be giving him coffee,” and maybe a melatonin or two to put him to bed, I wanted to write but stopped myself.

He never messaged me since.
