Making money from your blog is becoming easier, will you take this opportunity?
Have you tried any of these methods to earn money from your blog? Do you think you will do so in future or does the idea doesn’t appeals to you?
I am on such plan right now.
When I took the plunge and purchased my current domain in 2020, I had plans of making money from my hobby. I had wanted to sell my prints online but I felt like my photos are at that level yet. So I signed up for the cheapest plan to expand the storage of my blog.
Three years later, in 2023, running out of storage again, when WordPress offered a promotion on an upgrade, I purchased a 3-year subscription for the Premium plan. Immediately, I activated Word Ads. Now, over a year later, I have just stopped caring about the amount of ad revenue I receive.
I have never changed my writing for the sake of ad revenue. I still enjoy writing my thoughts and stories. I signed up for the Premium plan mostly to expand my storage so I can resize some of the older larger size images and have enough storage in the mean time. I like to think of my signing up for Word Ads as a half-hearted attempt to see if I can make something out of my decade-long hobby.
It didn’t work, oh well.

Wordads pay very little, but we don’t have to do anything for it so that’s a plus.

My daughter keeps insisting that I write on Medium for money. I keep saying, who is going to pay to read what I write since I would not pay to read what I write?
Apparently, it can be done, but I think you can write about gardening, and garden newbies would appreciate what you write.

I tried Medium but not only do they need you to sign up onto their premium plans, the “writing for money” thing only works for long-form writing. Most of the article are average around 1500-2000 words. Frankly, I don’t have the attention-span to constantly write such long articles on a topic.

I have not bought WordPress Premium since having an account because I have not filled up my media space yet…

It took me almost 10 years to use up my 3 GB free storage space.
