“Meet me in the back stairs in 10,” the message appeared on the lower right-hand corner of his laptop screen, really, he thought, she wants to do it here, at work, wow. Immediately, he could feel his heart pounding with anxiety, how does this whole “friends with benefit” thing work exactly, he started to wonder as he tried to imagine the scenarios in his head.
Should I ask him to confirm whether he’s coming, she wondered moments after she sent her previous message, drumming her fingers on the keyboard, wondering if he caught the sexy tone of her voice or was he oblivious like all the other guys she’s dated. After a moment, she sighed and asked herself, this “friends with benefits” thing, we’re doomed from the start, aren’t we?
Ten minutes later, he and she met in the back stairs and as unsure as both of them were, the moment they saw each other, he took charge and pressed her against the wall as they melted into one the moment their lips met. “Are you sure you want to do this,” she asked, “this whole friends with benefits thing?”
Written for Six Sentence Story. The prompt is “Benefit”.

“doomed from the start” sounds like a realistic possibility.

Although I have seen scenarios like this work out in rom-com novel but I agree, in reality, probably 9 times out of 10 it won’t work out.

Love it. Ha Ha. Not proclaiming doom though. Often great romances can start this way.
