The Unicorn Challenge – Vacation Continues

With a rough start like that, things have GOT to get better, a voice at the back of his mind said and it was the thing that kept him from immediately checking out and boarding the next flight home.

For the remainder of that day, he decided to rest even though it would’ve been a waste of a day on vacation. To him, it was worth if it meant recharging his dead battery of a body and brain. He was desperate for a recharge, desperate to spend time away from work. I’m not a workaholic, he had to tell himself on a daily basis and yet, there he was, first to arrive and last to leave.

The next morning, after a simple breakfast of eggs and toast, he ventured into town. The Airbnb’s fridge was in need of a refill because otherwise, it would meant he had to eat out and he’s spent enough money on this trip already.

It was a 15-minute walk before he reached the shops. The first shop he saw was an ice cream shop with a cow statue in front. Gently and curiously, he ran his finger over the top of the cow. It’s wood. How cool, he smiled and kept walking. I need grocery, not ice cream, maybe later.

  1. You show a man who’s maybe – just maybe – beginning to relax a little, taking a day out to recharge.
I wonder if he’ll throw caution to the winds and go back for an ice cream before grocery shopping?😉
