Friday Fictioneers: Lost Memories

“Agnes,” the nurse asked, looking at Agnes’ canvas, “what is it you’re drawing?”

Agnes’ brows knitted into a straight line, “I…” she tilted her head, examining the drawing, and trying hard to dig deep into her brain for the lost memories. After a moment though, she sighed with resignation, and finished her sentence, “don’t know.”

“It’s okay, Agnes. Keep trying. I’m sure one day very soon, your memories will return and you’ll know exactly what or where this is.”

Three months prior, 18-year-old Agnes was found wandering the half-flooded avenue, clothes torn, confused, with no memories of her prior life.

  1. Wow. This opens up so many possibilities. The beginning gave me the impression Agnes was elderly with dementia, then to find out she’s 18, and no idea who she is. Verrry intriguing…a wormhole perhaps? (I’m a fan of wormholes 😉) well done, great story! So much going on in just 100 words.

    1. Thank you. I think she’s been through some trauma, whether it’s physical or mental, that caused her to be in the state she’s in. I agree, so many possibilities for this story.
