Sunday Poser #216 – Details about me

How much of your real life/ self you share in your writing?

How much of your real life do you share with your readers? Do you feel comfortable sharing your views on your blog?

When I started writing a blog, I was quite reluctant to share my name. Unfortunately, I’m terrible at coming up with an alias and nothing felt more comfortable to me than my own name. So, I decided to blog under my own name.

To be honest, I did not know what a blog is when I started writing in 2013. I thought it was just a place for people to write news articles. It took me a while to figure out that one can literally write about everything and anything on one’s own blog. That’s when I started writing boring essays and started writing about the stuff that goes on in my fantasy world aka my brain.

It was a little while longer before I was comfortable to share the stuff that was going on in my life, particularly the stuff I don’t have anyone to talk to about. That’s when I discovered I have an audience – a small group of people that’s actually interested in reading about what I’m going through and willing to sympathize. To this date, I think I’ve share pretty much everything about life, except my address and other identification like passport and driver’s license, which will probably be something I’ll definitely keep private.

  1. Thank you Yinglan for sharing your thoughts. I feel that our blogging community is the best and it’s easy to share our thoughts and experiences with them. It is very therapeutic to let out what’s going on in our lives.
