What can you remember about your last day at school/college?
My last day of high school was almost 16 years. I remember it being any other day except no classes. Seniors roamed the hall asking for yearbook signatures and I witnessed girls hugged, cried, and kissed their boyfriends like they were never going to see each other again. I ended up hanging out with my Biology teacher – Mr. Bailey – and we watched the Little Rascals on VHS until it was time to go home. I don’t know why I would remember that day, it was so uneventful, maybe I enjoyed it.
My last day of college was almost 9 years ago in December 2016. Final exams would be taken the next week in our available time. I was working 2 part-time jobs by then and if I wasn’t doing homework or working, I was blogging. The last day of college was just like any other day of college, except the instructors tried to cram the last bit of material into a 90-minute session.
Were you close enough to walk to school or did you need transport?
I went to 3 different high schools in 3 different states – California, Texas, and Utah. I had to ride the school bus when I lived with my step-grandparents in Texas but it wasn’t long because I ended up living in the apartment complex next to the school.
When I moved to Utah, school was close enough to walk but I rode the regular bus to school in the morning since it can be quite cold to walk in the morning. I did, however, walk home afterwards.
I went to 2 universities and both were a 30-45 minutes drive one way, so it wasn’t walkable. Public transit could’ve been taken but those could take 60-90 minutes to get to the destination.
Did you have a favorite teacher?
My favorite teacher is my 6th grade English teacher. I remember spending a lot of time in her classroom and conversing with her in my recess. I especially enjoyed her poetry class.
Would you like to go back to school?
Do you mean like go back to college? Or travel back in time to high school?
I would say no thanks to high school, middle school, and elementary school. If it’s college, I would probably think about it if I’m given a full-ride of scholarship and I get to study whatever I want. I may choose a major I’m actually interested like agricultural science (yes, it’s a thing) or botany to learn more about plants.

Looking good my friend

I’d love to see you earning money by working with plants, if that’s your innermost desire.
