For the Unicorn Challenge…
How many apartments have I moved into during the last decade? And how many times have I encountered a stray cat?
There are always stray cats everywhere, in just about every apartment complex and every neighborhoods. They are like the mascots of the community. I guess I’m just surprised they are not treated like stray dogs who would be immediately captured and sent to the pound. No, cats roam everywhere. They climb trees, jump over fences and bushes, they are like little ninjas. They should participate in those competitions where humans are competing in such races. I would bet cats would come out on top.
Do people think cats are smarter than dogs? Is that why cats are allowed to roam and dogs aren’t?

Good take on the liefe of cats, Yinglan. Are cats smarter than dogs? Hm…I think they’re both smart in different ways. And I remember seeing a cartoon where the dog, on a leash, was saying to the cat who was just wandering the street, ‘Your humans don’t keep you on a leash because they WANT you to get lost!'(Not true, of course!)

I don’t think it’s a question of intelligence, Yinglan, they are just very different creatures with different needs, motives and loyalties.

I don’t think it is so much that they are smarter, they are just craftier, and not as easily bribed!

I think it’s because cats are generally considered more independent, better at navigating their territory and less likely to pose a threat to people or other animals. And they’re much harder to catch!

They are hard to catch. There’s a stray cat in my neighborhood that no one seem to catch.

My cat thinks he’s smarter than everyone. He is. That’s why I take slavishly good care of him…😸
