Through the rain and tears, she did a U-turn and parked on the other side of the street. How pathetic, she thought, I’m hopeless, useless, I can’t do anything right.
Her parents had just denounced her while her boyfriend had stood by their side like a stooge. “Where did I go wrong?” She asked, banging her head on the steering wheel.
All she ever wanted to do was to please everyone that she ended up sacrificing the thing that was most important to her – her happiness. Why does no one understand? Does anyone care?
“Where did I go wrong?”

So much longing and hopelessness. I think it is not in she that the error lies. Wonderful vignette,

Thank you. I agree with you. I don’t feel she’s the one in the wrong.

Denounced her for what? She seems to have put too much faith in making other people happy, imagining they’d return the sentiment.

When parents have money, they seem to want their offspring(s) to do and/or be what they want. When they don’t, well, things happen. I think this is one of the more drastic scenarios.

Sad story but I think she will achieve happiness in her life! At some point.
