Can you remember your first camera?
The first camera I ever used was actually a camcorder (not sure anyone remember those things) and that was on my 2005 trip to China. That was my first visit after moving to the US. The camcorder used those mini-videocassette tapes but the camera was digital. I can’t remember how many megapixels was the camera.
The first camera I ever owned is my current camera, which is a Nikon D3500. It’s come with me on my trips and adventures.
Can you remember when you had your first mobile phone?
My first mobile phone was in 2007, after moving to Utah. It was a simple slide phone, picture on the right.
My first smart phone was in 2019, when I got myself a Samsung Galaxy s10e.
Can you remember your first car. If you don’t drive, can you remember your parents car?
My mom’s first car was a 1984 Toyota Cressida. It was the first car I rode in after arriving in the US and it survived until 2006, shortly after we moved to Texas, when it keeled over and died in the parking lot of the apartment complex. Poor thing, it was most likely the towing of a heavy trailer across 3 states that got it.
The first car I drove was a 1995 Ford Escort. It got me through the first 4 years of my 7 years in college before I had to sell it because the engine would suddenly stall on the freeway or at a traffic light.
What was your first job as an adult?
My first job as an adult was an ESL (English as a Second Language) tutor to a bunch of high school international students. I was 20 years old and most of the kids (I wouldn’t call them kids) I was tutoring were 18 and 19-year-olds.

Thanks for joining in and sharing your world Yinglan. Interesting answers, especially your first adult job!
