Would you rather read the news and be depressed/ frustrated by it- or remain oblivious to it and happy?
So, do you listen to the news every day and are well informed about the current affairs in your country and worldwide or do you avoid news like I do?
I do not read the news. I haven’t for years, at least not since 2020 when all the news have been doom and gloom. I even stopped reading blogs because nobody was writing their usual stuff. I know the world sucks, I don’t want to read it from different perspectives of how much the world suck.
To not read the news does not mean I’m oblivious to the world around me. I still pay mind to specific topics in the news like climate and weather. I need to know this to help me plan my garden. I, however, do not have any desires to read or watch anything on politics.
I don’t think it can one or the other because the news isn’t just about politics and anything doom and gloom. I think we all have interactions with news one way or another. We can avoid certain topics but we cannot avoid all news.
That’s just my two cents.

You’re right that we can’t avoid all news because someone is sure to update us. Thanks for sharing Yinglan

The news is everywhere today, on social media especially. It’s really hard to avoid them, even if you try. But you can minimize your exposure to them.

I agree, news is everywhere and unavoidable. Minimize exposure and applying filter is the key.
