“So, how was your date?”

“Honestly, not what I expected,” Shelley replied at her co-worker’s inquiry, “I felt like I spent the entire time wondering where I’ve seen him before because he looked very familiar, maybe on TV, I don’t know, oh, and he spent the entire time making gestures.”

“Like what?”

“Like this,” Shelley demonstrated a couple of the gestures from her date, “like he’s trying to sign or something.” Just then, the news broadcast came on the TV with an emergency announcement and immediately, Shelley’s eyes grew wide, “Holy cow, that’s him,” she pointed at the TV, “that’s my date from last night.” Her date was standing next to the governor performing sign language for the hearing impaired, “oh,” Shelley said with realization, “that’s why he was making all kind gestures,” she had imagined that if one does it enough, it becomes a habit.
