What do you wish you had more time to do?

What would you do if you had more free time? Do you think, like I do, that we can actually make time to do something if we really want to do something necessary?

I’m probably like 90% of the people in the world – I need more free time! Sure, I can probably make free time by neglecting the garden or my blog or stop watching TV, that’s probably 1-2 hours away that I would be able to get back but why should I stop doing the things I love?

Okay, let’s say for this question’s sake, I rub a genie’s lamp and am granted a wish of an hour every day dedicated to free time. I would imagine I would read, crochet, start learning the piano again, so many things.

I chose reading because these days, I spend many of my work hours listening to podcasts and audiobooks while writing emails and doing my usual tasks. I find listening to podcasts and audiobooks help me with concentration on my tasks as well as keep my anxiety and bad thoughts at bay. I tried working without these distractions and I didn’t like it when the bad scenarios came flooding into my consciousness.

However, it’s sometimes hard for me to get into an audiobook, especially when I’m not liking the narrator’s noise, that’s then I would opt to read the book in my own voice. Except with a garden and a blog to take care of, I don’t have time to just sit for a long period of time staring at a book. I also don’t have the power to focus for that long. So if I can have that additional hour dedicated to reading, I think I can probably make the most of it.

Right now, I crochet mostly in the winter, during the garden’s down-time. I find that even if I haven’t done it for a while, crochet is very easy to pick right back up. I feel like I need to limit myself with this hobby as it’s very addictive. I can most likely sit with a couple balls of yarn and crochet all day long. So if someone can set a timer…

Finally, how many years since I’ve played the piano? It’s probably been 8 years since I last played my digital piano. It’s since been moved from the living room to the basement but I feel it might be time for me to pick it up again, although I might also pick up the drums?
