#SundayStills: Monthly Color Challenge – Yellows and Oranges

For my first images for this week’s SundayStills Challenge, I will match Terri’s Yellowstone pictures with my Yellowstone photos from 2021. I’ve been there 5 times, with the last time being in 2021. I feel like that was before all the chaos happened like the flood of 2022 and from watching the videos of bison traffic, I’m not sure if I’m up for a visit even though Yellowstone is one of those places that never gets old.

Having been there so many times, I feel my favorite photos of the park has to be the bad weather photos. I can’t describe it. There’s an alluring quality to bad weather photos.

Do you ever have the struggle where part of you wants summer to stay for a little bit longer while another part of you wants autumn to get here already? It’s strange because I can’t ever recall feeling this way in previous years. Maybe because I want the days to just linger for a touch longer so my winter vegetables can get maximum time to grow. Maybe…

Anyway, I decided to include some pictures of the yellow and orange mums from previous years. The orange mum has already begun blooming but with it sandwiched between the loganberry bush and the yarrow, taking pictures will be a challenge this year. I might just need to reset the yarrow for the mum’s sake.

Last year was a mild winter in my area and according to the Old Farmer’s Almanac, it’s going to be another mild winter this year.

Last year, around Thanksgiving, I went for a walk in the park and decided to pick up a leaf off of the grass to take a picture. I think people usually do this with ice cream cones? Anyway, I thought it was a fun little partial selfie. I hope you enjoyed my galleries of oranges and yellows.
