Teri AKA Teari stood nervously in the backstage area watching the show, “Teri, thank god you’re here,” the director’s assistant said, sounding like he’s just run a marathon, “you have to fill in for Amber, she…she got the flu.”

After many auditions, Teri finally landed a role as an understudy in a Broadway show. It wasn’t the role she had wanted to get but, anything can happen, right, she thought. “Oh no,” she replied, never thought she would fill in for the lead, maybe this is my big break, she thought as she rushed toward the wardrobe room.

With wardrobe and makeup done in record time, Teri rushed back toward backstage, ready to make her acting debut, miking her up, the director’s assistant said, “ready to make your stage debut?” Teri nodded and on her queue, she waltzed onto the stage as all the other actors froze in motion, waiting for her to deliver her line but when she opened her mouth to speak, no words came out.
