What do you see #313 – Katie and the Kitty

The kitty doesn’t care for Katie nor does Katie for the kitty. In fact, the kitty doesn’t belong to Katie. It seems to belong to no one in particular as it walks around the neighborhood on the daily basis. “Like a patrol cat,” someone in the neighborhood once said. “Like a guardian cat,” another whispered as the kitty strolled by. However, for some strange reason, the kitty always returns to Katie’s house, as if it knows its home.

“Why are you here?” Katie asked the kitty once. “Why are you here making a mess in my yard when you can go anywhere in the world? Why, uh, kitty, why? You don’t belong to me nor to anyone. You are as free as anyone desires to be free.”

The kitty had just stood there and stared at her, as if it was trying to comprehend what Katie had said. Suddenly, they were locked in a staring contest, neither blinked for a few seconds before, as if bored, the kitty sauntered away.

    1. Thank you. There is such cat in my neighborhood. I’ve been living in my house for over 8 years now and this cat has started making frequent visit to my garden in the last 2 years. I don’t know what’s drawing it here but maybe in one of its former lives, this was its home?
