Garden Project Complete!

I couldn’t quite believe it when I connected the final piece of the PVC trellis. The project in the front yard is complete. The photo below is before – grow bags galore. I feel like if my mom had let me get raised beds in the first place, I wouldn’t had spent the money on the grow bags. I feel the presence of the raised beds is more prominent than grow bags and raised beds do look neater compared to grow bags, don’t you think?

After a summer of being anxious about the wind, I decided to invest a bit more into building a better trellis for the front garden. I used 3/4-inch PVC pipes with 1/2-inch concrete rebar hammered at least a foot into the ground for foundation. I think this is the best trellis I’ve built but the true test will come when the garden is hit with the 50-70 mile/hour wind gusts.

Now that this is done, I feel a weight has fallen off of my shoulder. At least I don’t have to deal with installing new beds come spring. For the first time ever, the front yard doesn’t look like a giant rock pile, it’s actually starting to resemble a garden.
