Happy Saturday to all!

Hello from Kanab, Utah! I hope I have a picture to add to this post as I’m writing this post in advance of my road trip, so hopefully, I’ll have time and energy to further edit this post before it goes live.

Before the road trip though, I had to get a lot of work done in the garden because I’m afraid the weather will change when I get back. First, I had to get the rain collection diverter connected to the gutter, which was a pain because I had to forcibly pull the gutter downspout from its holder, force the bottom part of the diverter into the downspout before re-securing the downspout to the side of the house. Smooth-sailing for a pair of extra hands, which unfortunately I didn’t have, so it took a long time. I got it done though and when I return from my road trip, I will have to do one more.

After finally installing the diverter, I had to give the garden a good clean up before I leave. I chopped the asparagus to the ground before dumping 2 bags of soil and leaves and mulch to let it rest for the winter.

I cannot believe it’s been 2 weeks already since my mom’s been in Asia. She’s set to arrive home next Thursday. I’m going to miss this alone time and the freedom. I think what I’ll miss the most will be the ability to get garden projects done. I finally got the front garden project completed and I’m loving the progress of turning this rock pile into a garden.

I’ll also miss getting to go anywhere without needing to give a good reason. Like last weekend, my aunt and I spent the day shopping and buying snacks for the road trip before eating a proper meal and going to Utah’s largest display of Christmas lights at Luminaria. The email was right, the display this year was bigger than when I went 2 years ago.

As for today, my aunt and I are doing a OHV (off highway vehicle) tour to some places that are inaccessible to cars. I appreciate you stopping by and hope you have a wonderful week ahead.
