Happy Saturday to all! Once again, thank you, Natalie, for hosting #WeekendCoffeeShare each weekend.
My department at work had our annual Christmas party this week but before the party, I must get through working from home Monday through Thursday. Strangely, I found it easier said than done. I’ve never thought about it before but without having to go into the office on Wednesday, the week felt extremely monotonous. The party was on Friday, which meant I had to go into the office on Friday this week, as opposed to Wednesday. Weirdly, the thought of going into the office caused some excitement to bubble inside me.
The party was fun. I exchanged gifts with my co-workers and we played games. It’s always something I look forward to each year. Oh, and I cannot forget about the food.

My co-workers ordered some appetizers to share. For starter, I had a salad and for my entree, I had a bone-in dry aged New York strip steak and mashed potatoes. The steak was a 14-ounce beast. I had it cooked medium-rare but when it arrived at the table, it was a little more rare than I wanted, still it was quite tasty. It’s strange that I could finish so much food, considering 6 months ago, I could barely eat anything at all. I think something perhaps shifted in my stomach.
If we were having coffee, I would tell you that with 2 more work days before being off until the new year, my brain is officially on holiday. I imagine the remaining work days will be difficult. Hopefully, I will be able to push through because I have lots to do before the long break.
If you ask what I’m planning to do over the long break, I would tell you I hope to cuddle with my tablet and an e-book. I don’t really hope I will read a novel over the holidays. I hope I will flip through garden magazines and perhaps gardening books to gain some inspirations for my 2026 garden. I hope I will be able to do that because my mom’s siblings have a way of disturbing me the moment I slow down to relax. Perhaps, I need to head to the library.
I appreciate you reading my updates and I wish you a Merry Christmas, and a wonderful week ahead.

The food looks very good! We haven’t had a Christmas party at work, but almost all of my co-workers went to a fancy restaurant on Tuesday night. The food was amazing and it was very festive.
