It’s been a month since Teri’s supervisor, Greg, introduced the newest member of the company, Sasha, to Teri and yet, Teri hadn’t brought herself to speak to Sasha again. Her first words still echoed in her head as she chided, why the hell did you do that, Teri, huh, why couldn’t you just pipe up?
Just then, she noticed a hand waving back and forth in her face, “Earth to Teri,” Teri’s roommate, Shelley, called. Teri jumped to find Shelley looking at her, “Are you alright?”
Teri nodded, feeling her cheeks burn with embarrassment, “Huh, yeah,” she cleared her throat, “what’s up?”
Shelley slapped a flyer on Teri’s desk, “The company is holding a New Year’s Eve party and you’re invited,” she was about to walk away when she turned back, “and yes, he’ll be there.”
Written for Six Sentence Story. The prompt is “Echo”.

It sounds like there is an opportunity for Teri to meet Sasha and others have noticed her interest in him.

Poor Teri – no pressure there, lol Hopefully, she’s able to calm her nerves and just be herself. If it’s meant to be…
