How long did it take you to get back into the normal swing of things after the holidays?
Yesterday was my first day back at work after the holidays and I honestly thought it would take me at least a few days to get back into the normal swing of things but in reality, it took no time at all. I was so busy with the hundreds of emails in all the mailboxes I manage as well as just trying to get all the month-end and year-end stuff done to close out 2025. I feel, perhaps, there was parts of me that’s been looking forward to going back to work. Apparently, sitting around doing nothing is hard work.
Are you looking forward to 2026 with optimism?
I am looking forward to 2026 with full-on optimism. What’s there to not be optimistic about? We are in the second half of winter, which means spring is coming. I am really looking forward to gardening this year because I will get to employ all the knowledge I learned in the recent months and hopefully, I’ll get a lot of food in the process.
Are you taking part in any of the January WP challenges/prompts?
No, I will not be taking part in any of the January challenges. I like my current blogging schedule and the type of challenges I participate on a weekly basis. I don’t have the time to take on another challenge at this moment.
If you could wish one thing for 2026, what would that be?
Oof, this is a tough one but I will have to agree with Di’s wish – that common sense would prevail. There’s too much stupidity and non-sense in the world these days and I am not pointing fingers at anyone specific. It’s just a general observation from watching snippets of the news, listening to audiobooks and podcasts, and from people watching.

Thanks for joining in Yinglan.
Yes, common sense seems to be a rare commodity just now.
