
We need to talk, Teri stared at the text on her phone for a moment as though she was hypnotized, before she shrieked with bewilderment, “Huh?”
Shelley took another bite out of her sandwich before asking, “What is it?”
“It’s him,” Teri said, and shoved the phone beneath Shelley’s face so she could relay and justify her emotional response.
Shelley stared at the screen for a moment before scoffing and blowing a raspberry, “that can be from anyone, it’s an unknown number, don’t you have his number?”
Teri shook her head and shrugged, “I deleted it when he quit and moved back to France,” or so I thought, she wanted to add before shaking her head again, “I guess there’s an easy way to find out,” on her phone, she typed, “sure, when and where,” and sent.
A long moment later, Teri’s phone buzzed, “Same time, same place tomorrow.”
