Teri stood there, her brain screaming red flag, red flag, get out of there while a part of her wanted answers, needed answers for closure, to know she was right all along.
Awkwardly, Adrian retracted her hand, but instead of returning his hand to his side, he ran his hand through his hair, “I expect you’re curious.”
Teri crossed her arms, suddenly feeling angry and vulnerable, “I just have one question,” she inhaled deeply before letting the next words flow out of her mouth like a torrent, “are you him… Sasha, I mean,” she took another deep breath before speaking her next words one at a time, “are you the French transfer from my work?”
Adrian stared at her for a moment before answering, “Yes, but,” he paused as if looking for the right words, “that’s a chapter of my life I do not wish to re-live,” he sighed as Teri finally sat down, “I was appalled my roommate even suggested such a thing.”
Teri’s anger suddenly melted into confusion, “Huh?”
“I’m an out-of-work actor,” Adrian said, “I’ve been out of work for almost a year when my roommate suggested I apply for this position pretending to be someone from a foreign country…”
