Moments earlier… he was sitting in his private corner of the office, still angry and beating himself at the fact that he might not had done a good enough job of impersonating his roommate. AI maybe here to stay but it’s far from perfect, he’s been trying to sooth himself for the last hour, the voice that came out of the other end may had been Adrian’s but the mannerism was far from it.
Should I go over there, he wondered as he watched her shake her head like an insane person and scratch her head as though her hair was bug-infested, should I tell her the truth?
The truth about what, a voice screamed in his head, that you have feelings for her. No, what you need to do is take charge, walk over there and ask her to lunch, take charge, man, take charge! He glanced at the time on the clock on his desk, what do you know, it is lunch time, with that, he got up, locked his computer, grabbed his lunch bag, and walked toward the double glass door as Teri said, “Whoa, this world had just gone insane!”
Written for Six Sentence Story. The prompt is “Charge”.

Interesting story Yinglan

I agree with that voice in his head. He should stop imitating Adrian and ask Teri to go out for lunch.

I second that.

well, playing games is certainly not the way to get the desired outcome from Teri. I wanna know what happens when she finds out… Feelings aside.
I smell drama incoming…

It’s an old saw “honesty is the best policy” for a reason. It’s generally true.

that fricken voice!*
I will submit it’s not the advice of the internal voice that’s a problem, it’s the willingness of the person to be satisfied by sitting and listening
*far more people I know have it than those who don’t (who, in turn, tend to be less…interesting)

I agree and I, for one, am sometimes guilty of obeying that voice in my head.
