Do you prefer reading/ writing short content or long content?
What is your preference- long or short content? And if a favorite blogger is posting multiple times a day, do you read all their posts or skip some of them?
When I began this blog, I was aiming to write long form content such as a 700-900 word essay or story. My aim was to post once a week, not daily, because that would had been exhausting trying to come up with things to write. My first few long-form contents garnered no attention and that’s when I knew, I must go short and sweet with my contents.
These days, I try to keep my posts under 500 words, although I may go over in at least one of my posts each week. I find, especially with writing shorter stories, the readers have an easier time to engage and therefore, will be able to catch the ooh and ahh moments in my stories.
As for reading, I prefer short content but if the words will keep me engaged and hooked, I wouldn’t mind reading long-form posts. I don’t mind bloggers posting multiple times a day but I’m afraid 5-6 short content posts per day is my limit as a reader. Not to sound rude but I’m sure me and probably many other people have a ton of other things to do than stare at the phone and read posts all day long.
