Huffing and puffing, Teri staggered onto the bus, showed the driver her 2-hour transfer pass, who nodded in acknowledgment and closed the door as Teri slowly made her way to the back of the bus. Clearly, I need to workout more, Teri thought as she tried to calm the fire that was in her chest and that’s when she saw him. In his flip flops, Harry was standing there, almost as out of breath as she was, what is he doing here, Teri wondered, was he behind me this whole time, why did he come after me?
So many questions and not enough answers, Teri shook her head, feeling confused, could Shelley be right about Harry, that he has feelings for me?
Some time later, when Teri entered the apartment, she found her roommate Shelley bending over her phone while four half-sheet pans full of fish, meats, and vegetables lined the kitchen counter, “So, you ditched me for meal prep,” Teri said, “thanks.”
“Judging from your tone, I’m guessing it didn’t go well?”

Ha! I love how Shelley won’t even look up from her four sheet pans to acknowledge Teri’s romantic crisis. And yes, Harry appearing out of breath right behind her—definitely has feelings. Great setup, Yinglan. You’ve got me hooked!
