Happy Sunday! Steve Hyde guest-hosts Lens-Artists Photo Challenge #409 and he’s asking us to pick out our best images.

I find some of my best and favorite images are black and white because they show something other than the obvious. I sometimes find I can tell a much better story in black and white than in color. Colors sometimes get in the way while taking away the colors force the eyes to adjust and focus on something else. I originally want to keep this photo in color but I love it more in black and white.

This is by far one of the most memorable photo I’ve ever taken and I do admit this is one of my best work, even though most of the work came from post-production because what can one do in the field other than adjust the focus and click a simple button? I don’t remember what I did in Lightroom to achieve such result. Can I re-create it? Probably not.

Finally, I must go to the garden no matter what because there are some pretty great images that were taken in there. Looking through my photos of my personal meadow, this is the best and my favorite photo of the bunch. It’s from spring 2024 and bluebells of various colors are all over the place. The meadow hasn’t looked the same since. I will most likely need to spend time to clean up this winter and re-scatter seeds early next spring and cross my fingers to hope for similar result.
