
“Why are you doing this?” Lucy’s husband, Dave, asked, hugging the wooden pole as Lucy struck the pole with a mallet.
“For. The. Grandkids!” Lucy said as she struck each blow.
“But all the signs are dangling, honey. Don’t you think that will confuse the kids?”
Lucy stood back, studied her work, and groaned, “Gosh, darn it. I suppose a few more nails will do.”
A few days later, when the grandkids were running around the yard, narrowly missing Lucy’s veggie patches, Suzy stood before the sign, “Suzy, what’s wrong?”
Suzy tilted her head, “Grandma, why are the signs lopsided?”
