This week, Patti is back with a new challenge for Lens-Artists Photo Challenge #421 and we are exploring geometry, whether in nature, architecture, or in daily life.
Bridges have so much personality, don’t they?

During my recent trip to China, I saw a lot of bridges, particularly in Suzhou, where some of the oldest bridge (probably in the world) is still standing. I saw all three of these on my final day in the city and found these bridges all equally unique.
Here is a leaf of a yarrow plant. I started some yarrow from seed a few years ago and hadn’t needed to since. Even when I cut it down to nothing, it always, somehow, will make a return with new leaves. Anyway, this picture was taken when one day, I decided to look at the leaf of a yarrow seedling through one of the macro filter lens screwed onto the camera. Is it not the most 3D geometric leaf you’ve ever seen?

Finally, I love pictures like these because it’s full of lines and shapes that I don’t think anyone can deny there is some sort of geometry in this. I took the first picture at Pukou train station in Nanjing, China while the second picture was taken at a local public garden I visited in the spring. The other thing I love about this is how one arch is inside of another and so, sort of like a nesting doll. What do you think?

Great post Yinglan, I really like the similarities of the last two!
