My Thoughts on Meats

Daily writing prompt
What are your feelings about eating meat?

I’m not a big meat-eater, in general. I had a meaty meal a few days ago for Thanksgiving and did not feel good afterwards (digestive-wise). If I’m cooking for myself, it would be nearly meatless. As much as I want to call myself a vegan or a vegetarian, I can’t because I love eggs. I don’t think I can live without them. You can take meat out of my diet but no way are you taking out the eggs.

The meat I would love to rid from my life are probably pork and beef. My digestive tracts might even thank me and so will the pig and cows.

My mom, on the other hand, seems to think pork and beef are the only meat in the world. She would buy 3 or 4 racks of spare ribs and air-fry them. To be honest, I’m not really into it. I don’t understand why she would choose this method to cook meat. Why not do it low and slow? Oh wait, I know, no patience.

I’ve had some very delicious ribs, those that were cooked low and slow. The meat was falling off the bone. Now that’s my kind of rib.

Anyway, I don’t think eating meat is bad by any means. I think meat is the sole to provide the complete protein.

Do I feel bad for the cows and pigs that are getting slaughtered? Of course, I do! The thing is, I don’t feel like it would make a difference if I don’t eat meat. There are still a whole world of people who still need to eat meat. Maybe this is a think that will probably make a difference if there’s more people in the world that don’t eat meat.

Adventures Through the Years

Can you believe this? 18 years flew by just like that. I wrote this post back in 2016 and thought to re-post it on this special day.
