There is no better feeling than knowing all your work is done

The entire week last week, mom has been pushing me. She was like, “I want to get this done this weekend.” Unfortunately, it wasn’t that easy. You can’t rush when it came to updating a website.

As I mentioned many times, my mom and I work for a small independent company helping to update the Chinese version of user guide for a website. A lot of you may have heard or used Canvas if you went to school. Whenever there’s an update to any of the lessons in English, we are responsible for updating the Chinese version as well.

Anyway, when mom sets a goal, she is adamant (my favorite new word) about reaching that goal. So the last two days, my now tired hands have been flying through the keyboard at a record pace. My brain, on the other hand, had been working like an assembly line. An English sentence is sent through the right side of my brain while Chinese characters shoot out my left.

Yesterday, after waking up at eight-ish in the morning and gulping down a large bowl of Chinese porridge (rice and water), I was all set and ready to work. I didn’t finish until 3 in the afternoon. I didn’t even have lunch! All I did was filling myself up with nothing but mentos fruit chewy mint.

By the time I was finally finished, my head was spinning and my tube of candy was a quarter way through! Maybe that was what too much sugar did to me but HOORAY! All my work for this month is complete!

Confetti All Around!!!

Now, if I just take all my quizzes, exams, and write up my discussions and two essays. I can finally relax for the summer.

Wait, not quite.

There’s always something

I have to fill out the questionnaire for my exit interview before next Monday and when August rolls around, I have to start working again. This time, there’s so much more and mom’s already set the time limit to 25 days (including weekends). Can I finish it all? At least mom will be away in Washington D.C. the whole month. Just don’t tell me she’ll be calling home nonstop to bother me.

**Sigh** It feels like my life runs in arcs now like a novel. So far this summer, an arc is already over (GMAT) and now another arc is nearly over (Summer Classes) and then the next one is starting soon, relapsing this one. The title of this blog is feeling more and more inappropriate. It should be called “The complicated life” but “The simple life” is what I’m trying to achieve. How can it not be a good name?

Well, I have to do two exams today and time is of the essence. Wish me luck and have a great day.
