Popping pills is one of those things I am absolutely against. If there’s no need, why take it? Taking pills or overdosing on pills is what killed so many, isn’t it? Why do people take such dumb risks?
My family have quite the opposite belief. They seem to believe that pills solve everything. If they have a minor headache, pill. A joint pain, pill.
You should have seen the pills they brought on their visit two years ago. It’s a scary supply. My mom used to be absolutely against me taking one vitamins a day but in the past years, her belief changed. Like if I have a toothache and any ache, she would immediately urges me to either call the doctor or take a heavy dose of ibuprofen. That is ridiculous and don’t get me started with her latest obsession, taking supplements.
Taking supplements is good for you but why do you need more of anything when the food you eat basically covers it? Here are a list of supplements she want me to take:
- Super B Complex – for energy
- Flaxseed Oil – for memory improvement, hair loss, dry eyes, etc
- Bilberry – for eye health
- CoQ10 – for energy
- Calcium – to prevent low calcium
- Vitamin D – for Calcium
- Red Yeast Rice – for lowering cholesterol
This is a whole lot of pills. I must admit though, I do need the super B for energy but what about all the others? Dry eyes? I didn’t have dry eyes before but right after that night she insisted I needed lubricant in my eyes and dropped some eye drops into my eyes, I began getting dry eyes. I told her, I have never put eye drops in my eyes and I am not going to start now but no, she said it’s good for me. Well, now I have dry eyes, how is that good?
Anyway, there are situations when less is better and this is one of them. It may be good for you but at the same time, it can also have dire consequences.

Awesome site, thanks a lot !!
