Auntie Ying, after all this time, I realized I never thanked you for all the things you’ve done for me during the past two months. You lightened my load a lot to the point that I am able to concentrate on my studying and not worry about chores.
First of all, thank you for doing my laundry.
Thank you for helping me with cooking. With you washing the vegetables, cooking and splitting the rice and me just doing the cooking, it really made the process that much quicker.
Thank you most of all for keeping me company. Even though I sometimes feel like I’m explaining things to a child because of your limited knowledge with school and university as well as lots of other things, you kept me from feeling lonely on those nights I’m desperate for company.
Most importantly, thank you for keeping the house clean as well as cleaning the rental this week after the renters had abruptly moved out. Thank you for spending the whole day yesterday in the rental home’s backyard searching and cleaning out scattered dog poop left by the tenants’ two dogs.
I don’t think I would have the patience like you to prod and turn over every spot of grass to find such a disgusting object not to mention getting down on my hands and knees to clean the entire house.
I just want you to know how appreciative I am of you these past two months even though I don’t show it. So THANK YOU again for fulfilling so many mundane tasks for me.
Happy Thanksgiving Everybody!
