Ever since my aunt and cousin left, the fridge has been mostly empty. We went from going grocery shopping every few days, which is crazy, to every two weeks or month, which is what we do now. It sure saves a lot but determining what to eat for every meal has been a challenge.
A few weeks ago, I had just about it with scouring the cracker-filled pantry for breakfast. So I decided to invent a quick breakfast that will keep me full and energized until lunch time which is at least four or five hours.
I needed to be quick and my new breakfast is exactly what I’m looking for.
I told my mom about it just a couple days ago and this was her reaction.

I don’t think it’s yucky at all but you decide. Here it is…

You’ll need:
- 2-3 teaspoonful of Hot Cocoa Powder
- 2-3 teaspoonful of Quick 1-minute Oats
- Hot Water
- 1-2 teaspoonful of Flaxseed Meal or Golden Flaxseed Meal (Optional)
- Milk or Soy Milk (optional)
So far so good?
- Scoop some Hot Cocoa Powder into the cup. I placed two teaspoonful just because the Swiss Miss Hot Cocoa is potent but it’s up to you.
- Scoop some Quick Oats into the same cup. I put in three teaspoonful just because I like oats and once it’s done, the oats tend to reduce. You’ll see in later pictures.
- Throw in the flaxseed. Flaxseed is a wonderful source of fiber and it is very good for the health. My mom first used it for its fiber and as a prevention to breast cancer but I just like it for its other health benefits like weight loss.
- Mix it up!

My water cooler comes with the hot water function but if you don’t have hot water handy, get another cup and microwave some water. My cup is about 8-10 Fl. oz and I filled it about 2/3 full. It is best to microwave in a separate cup so the cocoa powder don’t result in clumps. It tend to do that when you fill it come in contact with cold water.

Okay, then stir it until it is well mixed. After that, fill it with milk or soy milk, your choice. I use soy milk just because I quit milk but still like the taste of milk.

Enjoy!
