Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: Signs

Even though this picture was taken over a month ago, I took this picture specially for this week’s challenge. One of the things I like about this challenge is that I can check the upcoming topics and be prepared when I go on field trips.

This picture was shot in Unita National Forest, a trip I took last month when our friends from the UK came visited.

Here is an awkward angle of the sign for Route 66, taken at the Chicago end of the highway. I could’ve taken a better picture but I didn’t want to go out into the road and risk being hit by incoming traffic. That would not be good.

  2. There are all kinds of arrows that we encounter giving us directions or showing us which way to go. A good thing… I guess. Arrows that we meet each day is an interesting study. A nice shot Yinglan…

    Ahhh yes… “…get your kicks from route 66!” Those were the days. In my high school days the TV show “Route 66” was popular. I used to fanaticize having a Corvette convertible and hitting the road. To me that would be the life! No Corvette convertible… no route 66… but I still love to take a good road trip. I did drive on parts of what remains of route 66 this past fall… it was kinda fun.

    I’d also like to retrace the route of the Lincoln Highway which runs from New York City to San Francisco. The only parts I’ve been on have been in the South Bend, Indiana area. I’m sure the rest will never happen… but aw well… it’s fun to dream!
