This week, I am grateful for remembering how to do everyday stuff. During my time in China, I became increasingly worried that I’ve forgotten how to do some things when I get home like drive and play the piano. As many of you know, I got back to the U.S. earlier this week. The day after I returned, I had the task of picking up my prescription from the pharmacy which required driving. I was nervous as I got in the car but then when I shifted the gear to reverse and began backing out the garage, I suddenly felt like I knew what I was doing.
When I got home safely that afternoon, I sat at the piano, sucked in a deep breath, and began playing a song which I practiced a thousand times (Scarborough Fair), my fingers felt so natural among the keys. It was as though I’ve been practicing every day during my four months in China. Amazing, right?
