Share Your World – Week of September 18, 2017

Complete this sentence: I want to learn more about …

I want to learn more about playing the piano – songs, techniques, etc.

Now that I have a job and temporarily done with school, I think it’s time for me to return to learning about music.

I hope by the end of this year, I will be able to get a new digital piano. The 1980’s Yamaha I purchased for $60 from my former boss is starting to fail – the pedal wouldn’t stop sustaining notes. I believe the problem is the plug. I think after all the hard work this year, I deserve a new digital piano.

On a vacation what you would require in any place that you sleep?

My requirements used to be a clean bathroom and a bed with a comforter but after what I endured that night earlier this year in a 4-star hotel in China and the tiny room in Hong Kong, I now require a central heating or air-conditioning room with a window along with a clean bathroom with a proper tub or stall and a full-size bedbug-free bed with a comforter. If you look at the room to the right, that was it, room for two. That’s too tiny for me.

What is your greatest extravagance?

What do I have that’s completely extravagance? My laptop? No, I’ll admit the amount of storage may be a little more than what I need but I plan to use this computer for at least 5 years. So I guess that wouldn’t count as an extravagance. The only thing I can think of is my iPod. I listen to the radio now more than the iPod. Even a decade ago, I thought it was necessity but it’s always been an extravagance.

What inspired you this past week?  Feel free to use a quote, a photo, a story, or even a combination.

I usually spend my weekends watching movies, some new, some old, and then those movies typically become my inspiration for the upcoming week’s flash fiction challenges. Last week, I watched a movie about Amish and this week, this movie inspired a story.

  1. That room looks tiny, like a jail cell only with clean white sheets and a flat screen TV. But I guess its probably cheap like when you on a backpack budget and all you need is a place to lay your head?
