Share Your World – Week of September 25, 2017

What is your favorite outdoor activity?

My favorite outdoor activity is, of course, hiking even though I do struggle half of the time while spending the majority of the hike whining “How much further?” Even through all that struggle though, I still enjoy hiking because not only that’s where I get to connect with nature but it’s where I take most of my pictures.

In a car would you rather drive or be a passenger?

As much as I want to be the passenger and just sit back and enjoy the scenery, I would rather drive. I believe it has something to do with control because when I’m the passenger, I feel it’s hard to control where I’m going and I tend to get very anxious when the driver makes one false turn and when my anxiety flares, many things can happen.

I remember I was suffering from toothache the majority of the road trip back in May because my aunt was driving the Canadian leg of the trip. Then my anxiety faded when I drove the U.S leg of the trip and so did the toothache. Maybe I’m a control freak and that’s why I would rather be the driver.

If you could have three wishes granted for you alone, what would they be?

I used to think “more is better” but now that I have my own house which comes with mortgage and lots of bills, I’m starting to think “less is better.” So asking me to pick three wishes now is a little more difficult than the last time I’d done this question. I’ll try my best. Here I go.

  1. I wish for some mild weather and not this roller coaster temperature that’s been making me sick these past few days, well, at least until after my surgery next Monday. According to the doctor, I cannot have any pain-relievers five days before the surgery which means starting today, I can’t take anything to relieve me from pain of swollen gums and headaches.
  2. I wish for a healthier, not-overweight body, preferably one with a stronger auto-immune system. After being diagnosed and currently treating for lupus, I frequently feel like my body’s on the verge of crashing especially with the rapid change of temperature. I often feel tired and ill. Therefore, I wish for a healthier body so I don’t always feel like crap.
  3. After wishing for some essentials, I think I should at least save my last wish for something extravagant. Let me think… Okay, I wish for new furniture, appliances, and electronics for my new house. New reclining sofa, couch, stainless steel kitchen appliances, and a new 60″ flat-screen TV.

What inspired you or what did you appreciate this past week?  Feel free to use a quote, a photo, a story, or even a combination.

I spent this past week trying to finish reading a book I had started early August. It’s called Deja Dead by Kathy Reich. It’s a thriller and suspense crime-solving novel. I know I should’ve finished this book sooner but with only being able to read during my hour-long lunch, I can’t get very far even if I dive head-on into the book. I’m starting book 2 of 19 from this series this week and it’s interesting so far. We’ll see.

I also appreciated all the people posting on my Facebook timeline as well as all the comments on my blog last weekend wishing me a happy 26th. It was one of the best birthdays. My aunts even surprised me by sending red envelopes over the web.
